Eleni Plakoutsi is a linguist, a researcher and a PhD candidate at the NKUA. She takes part in the research program “A Corpus-based Valency Lexicon for a Contrastive and Diachronic Study of Ancient & Medieval Languages,” funded by the HFRI (Hellenic Foundation for Research & Innovation). She graduated from the department of English and, subsequently, from the department of Philology in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). She continued with her studies at the University of Ioannina, applying for the MA program “Linguistic Theory and Research” at the Department of Philology. She graduated with honors for her paper Ancient Greek syntax and modern linguistic theory. Currently, she is studying at NKUA and she is working on her doctoral dissertation titled “(Re)translation of ancient Greek texts as a corpus and a cause of linguistic change.”
Her research interests include: Diachronic linguistics, Greek grammar, English grammar, Language contact, Language teaching

Vasileios Symeonidis is a doctor of Linguistics and a member of the research project “A Corpus-based Valency Lexicon for a Contrastive and Diachronic Study of Ancient & Medieval Languages,” funded by the HFRI. He graduated from the department of German Language and Literature and subsequently he acquired his master’s degree in Linguistics at the School of English (in AUTh). During the period 2019-2024, he completed his doctoral dissertation at the School of English (in NKUA), graduating with honors.
His research interests focus on the interface between theoretic and quantitative linguistics, specifically in the domains of syntax, historical linguistics, and language change. His papers have been presented in international conferences and they have been published in conference proceedings and edited works.
ANASTASIA TSIROPINA anasttsirop[at]enl.uoa[dot]gr
Anastasia Tsiropina is a PhD candidate in linguistics at the Department of English Language and Literature in NKUA. She is also a member of the research team responsible for the project “A Corpus-based Valency Lexicon for a Contrastive and Diachronic Study of Ancient & Medieval Languages,” funded by the HFRI.
She completed her undergraduate studies at the department of English Language and Literature in NKUA (2016-2020). She specialized in linguistics through the MA program “European Linguistics: Language Development and Variation” at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (2021-2022). During that period, in the context of her internship, she participated in a research team, focusing on the linguistic research of ancient greek texts. Her research interests revolve around Diachronic and Historical Linguistics of the Greek and the English language.

Sophia Chionidi is a linguist and a researcher taking part in the project “A Corpus-based Valency Lexicon for a Contrastive and Diachronic Study of Ancient & Medieval Languages,” funded by the HFRI (no. 20577). In parallel, she is working on her PhD dissertation at the department of English Language and Literature (NKUA).
She graduated from the department of English Language and Literature (NKUA), where she continued with her studies, completing her master’s program “Linguistics and Translation” with honors and majoring in “Linguistics: Theory and Application”. She contributed to the publication of the bilingual volume ODYSSEY by the School of Philosophy (NKUA), as a member of the translation team; she has also contributed to the publication of various research papers. She has participated in the organization of conferences and seminars, and in a CIVIS BIP, a short-term mobility program (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid).
Her research interests include: Historical Linguistics, annotating diachronic corprora, written language contact, use of computational (linguistic) tools.
